1967 Ford Mustang G-Tech GT500 convertible


Spectacular! 1967 Ford Mustang G-Tech GT500 Convertible “Topless Eleanor”! One of the star cars of the auction. This is number 18 of the 19 cars produced by G-tech and is still new showing only 50 test miles. Beginning life as a “C” code 289 convertible with an excellent core and body structure, G-Tech began the process to transform the primitive classic to a modern nostalgic machine. The car is powered by a 2003 4.6 liter aluminum Mach 1 crated motor, force fed by a Pro-charger intercooled supercharger distributed by Mass Flow electronic Fuel Injection integrated to a custom intake manifold built by G-Tech. To help with the breathing process, the exhaust manifolds were hydra-honed and ceramic coated, this adds an additional 20HP than if traditional headers were used. All working together to produce over 700 HP. Power is transferred via a specially prepared Tremec Magnum 6 speed transmission actuated by a Center Force dual friction clutch outfitted with a G-Tech hydraulic system and applied by a Heidts IRS Rear end. To harness the horses, the car features a Wilwood 4 wheel disc brakes with cross drilled rotors, “in-board” brakes are utilized in the rear they are specially designed with Hydro boost and in cockpit metering valve. The front suspension consists of a Rod and Custom Mustang II front end with adjustable coil over suspension at all 4 corners. What also makes this car unique is that the car also features Full Frame Construction that features 2” by 3 ˝” square tubing that runs between the torque boxes and is concealed inside the rockers and body strengthening throughout, re-enforced front frame rails. This is done to fortify the structure of the car so to handle the increase in horse power and also track and handle as a new car. The car is completely ridged with no frame or body flex.
