1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429 fastback Sportroof

Description:

1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429 sportroof fastback. This is one of the rarest Mustangs ever built. Boss 429 Mustang was a limited production Mustang designed to homologate the Boss 429 engine for NASCAR racing, even though the Torino was the car used for NASCAR. All Boss 429's where built at Kar Kraft in Brighton, Michigan, not far from our auction. Shock towers and other modification had to be made just to make the 429 fit inside the Mustang engine bay. Boss 429 Mustang was a limited production Mustang designed to homologate the Boss 429 engine for NASCAR racing. Other features included Boss 429 fender decals, manual controlled hood scoop, a front spoiler, color keyed dual racing mirrors, engine oil cooler, trunk mounted battery, close-ratio four speed manual transmission 3.91 rear axle with Traction-Lok, 3/4 inch rear sway bar, chrome 15x7 Magnum 500 wheels. All Boss 429s came with the Deluxe Decor interior, 8000 rpm tachometer and AM radio. The 429 was vastly under rated at 375 hp. Watch for more photos and description of this fully restored Royal Maroon example soon.
