Offered without reserve from the estate collection of William A.C. Pettit, III is this 1970 Chrysler Newport Convertible. This massive and powerful road car is powered by the high-output 383 cubic inch, 290 horsepower V-8 engine with Torqueflite automatic transmission, power brakes, power steering, power top, 40/20/40 split bucket seats, cruise control, AM/FM 8-track stereo, Factory air conditioning, power trunk release and more.

1970 was the last year Chrysler offered a full-size convertible and the final year of the "fuselage" body style. This car is one of just 1,124 produced was purchased new by Bill Pettit, remaining in the Pettit Collection ever since. The car is in original and unrestored condition with the exception of the installation of a new convertible top in the correct original material some years back.

Just driven over 1,000 miles all the way to the auction from Central Florida without any incident and in comfort with its cold air conditioning, this Newport is sure to be a wonderful show-and-go car for the next four decades.
