1054a graham-paige dealership sign No reserve/absolute

Description:

An amazing find right from Stark County. To be sold at NO RESERVE/Absolute! The original dealership sign from Hicks Motors Graham-Paige auto dealership on Erie Street in down town Massillon. Via benign neglect this sign was just uncovered in the back of the old dealership in amazing condition. It measures approx. 88"x60" and is metal construction with the art deco Graham letters diecut and back lit on both signs. The Milk glass letters are in perfect condition. The metal shell has no rust and has appears to have had a repaint in the original dark green many many years ago. Graham-Paige cars were part of the long Graham history using this exact name from 1928 into the early 1930's dating the sign. In addition to interior lighting it has over 100 light sockets where it used red, white and blue 10w light bulbs to surround the sign. Many are still in place. The crown jewel of the sign is the Graham Brothers logo-shield paint on glass in fills the oval at the top of the two sided sign. One is missing but the other is there and in great shape which would make duplication easy. All the light sockets are in good shape with the exception of only a couple. All the internal wiring and sockets are also in place and looks like it should light up with a new hot lead. This style is made today, so again, easy to duplicate. The sign weighs maybe 250-300 pounds so we recommend local pickup. We can arrange to have it crated and shipped at the buyers expense. This could be the only remaining Graham-Paige sign in existing, we don't know but it is the only one we have ever seen and it was found only weeks ago only miles from our auction site.
